About the Vermont Lottery
The Vermont Lottery launched in 1978 with the Green Mountain Game. Instant tickets went on sale later that year, and Pi♋ck 3 got started in 1980.
Prior to July 1998, all profits from ticket sales were dedicated to the state's general fund. Since then, proceeds have been earmarked for state education funding. Vermont is part of the Tri-State Lottery, which operates five games together with Maine and New Hampshire.
